What cities can I do a Pompeii tour from?

Spend a few hours walking through the crumbling ruins of the ancient town of Pompeii.

Pompeii is truly a unique city, as it’s been frozen in time ever since the nearby volcano, Mount Vesuvius, erupted in 79 AD.

Some highlights to see while in Pompeii include the House of the Faun, Villa Dei Misteri, the Forum, the amphitheatre, and the brothel.

While standing in the Forum, you’ll have a perfect view of the deadly Mount Vesuvius. If your tour permits, you may have a chance to climb the active volcano!

Planning a trip to Pompeii? Here are some cities where you can get a tour from, or nearby cities where you can easily meet outside Pompeii to do a tour.

Naples

Naples is a very popular Italian city and is actually the third-largest city in the country! Naples is a beautiful city to visit with amazing food, after all, pizza was invented here!

Rome is the capital of Italy and typically where most first-timers of Italy will visit. Rome may have it all, but it does take a couple of hours to reach Pompeii. However, we think it’s worth the trip!
